Delete your account
Last updated 12 September 2026
This page explains how to delete your InstaQuote account and the data in it. InstaQuote is published by InstaQuote Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17224118). It is the same account whether you use the iPhone app, the Android app or the website at getinstaquote.com, so deleting it once deletes it everywhere. If you get stuck, email privacy@getinstaquote.com.
Read this first if you pay through Apple or Google
If you took out your subscription inside the iPhone app or the Android app, the store bills you, not us. Deleting your InstaQuote account cannot stop that. Only you can, in the store. If you delete your account without cancelling, Apple or Google will keep taking payments for an account that no longer exists.
- Apple: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions (or on your iPhone: Settings, your name, then Subscriptions).
- Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions (or in the Play Store app: your profile picture, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions).
Cancel there first, then come back and delete your account. If you subscribed on our website and pay by card, you do not need to do anything: deleting your account cancels that subscription at the same time, so no further payments are taken.
Get a copy of your records first if you want one
Deleting is permanent and we cannot put anything back. If you need your own figures for your tax return or your accountant, export them before you delete. If your plan includes Accounting, open Accounting, then Overview, and export your invoices, expenses and profit and loss summary. Quotes and invoices you have already sent as PDFs stay wherever you saved or emailed them.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open InstaQuote and sign in.
- On a phone, tap More in the bar at the bottom of the screen, then Settings. On a computer, click Settings in the menu down the left.
- Scroll to the bottom of Settings to the red Delete account box.
- If your subscription is through Apple or Google, that box asks you to cancel it in the store first and to tick a box to confirm you have. It will not let you go on until you do.
- Tap Delete my account, type DELETE into the box to confirm, then tap Permanently delete.
- That is it. The deletion runs there and then and signs you out.
If you sign in with a login your account owner set up for you as part of their team, you will not see Settings. Only the account owner can delete the account. Ask them, or email us and we will point you the right way.
If you cannot sign in
Email privacy@getinstaquote.com from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. That is all we need: sending from the account address is how we know it is you. If you cannot email from that address any more, write to us from whatever address you have and tell us which one the account uses, and we will ask you a couple of questions to confirm it is yours before we delete anything.
What deleting removes
Everything in your account goes, in full and straight away:
- Your business details, logo and settings, and your login.
- Your customers and your leads.
- Quotes and quote templates, with the photos and voice notes you used to build them.
- Jobs, on-site updates and job photos.
- Invoices, payments, payment stages and recurring invoices.
- Expenses, receipt photos, mileage records, material orders and your accounting entries.
- VAT figures and returns prepared in the app, and your CIS records.
- Your price library and rate card.
- Certificates and the certificate files you uploaded.
- Reviews, messages, reminders, and the log of emails and texts sent for you.
- Your team logins.
- Your connections to Google Calendar, HMRC and your bank, including the access tokens behind them.
- Every file you uploaded: logo, gallery photos, lead photos, receipts, job photos and certificates.
A card subscription with us is cancelled as part of the same job, so no more payments are taken. None of this can be undone or recovered afterwards.
What we keep, and why
- Our own records of what you paid us. The record of your subscription payments to InstaQuote Ltd sits with Stripe, our payment processor, and stays there. UK law requires a company to keep its accounting records for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, so we cannot delete those.
- Commission records, if you joined through a sales partner. We have to keep the record of what we paid that partner. The row stays in our books but the link to your account is removed, so it no longer points at you.
- Server and security logs. Technical logs that may include your IP address and the requests your device made are wiped automatically within 90 days.
Two things we cannot reach: emails and texts we sent to your customers for you are already in their inboxes and cannot be recalled, and if you took card payments from customers, the Stripe account those went through is your own account with Stripe, with its own records. Deleting InstaQuote removes our link to it but does not close it. Contact Stripe if you want to close that.
How long it takes
Deleting it yourself in the app takes seconds: it happens while you wait and you are signed out at the end. If you ask us by email, we normally do it the same working day, and always within 30 days, which is the limit UK data protection law gives us.
