The chasing
If it goes past its date, polite nudges go out in your name until it is paid. Three at most, then it stops and tells you. You are not the bad guy and you are not on the phone.
VAT and CIS
Work for a builder, a contractor or a developer and the CIS deduction and the VAT reverse charge are worked out on the quote and on the invoice. Work straight for a homeowner and they stay off. You set it per customer, not per quote.

Can I charge for the survey and put it against the job?
Yes. The survey and report is its own line, seeded at £150, so it is quoted and invoiced like any other work rather than given away and forgotten.
Can one quote carry the DPC, the re-render and the ventilation?
Yes, as separate lines on their own units: the DPC per metre, the re-render and the tanking per m², a PIV unit as an item. One branded quote, VAT worked out at the bottom.
Will it work out the renovating plaster and the slurry?
Yes. Each m² line brings its plaster, SBR, slurry, membrane and plugs at real coverage rates, so the take off is ready by the time the quote is.
