You shouldn't have to do any of this. After you send the quote, the only thing you do is tap Job done. The deposit, the booking, the invoice and the chasing are handled.
NowPriced in the van from a receipt, written up that night, "I'll let you know".
With InstaQuoteQuote priced from your saved rates in seconds. Sent straight away. The customer accepts on their phone.
NowDeposit asked for, not taken, parts bought on your card.
With InstaQuoteThe quote is accepted and the deposit is paid on the same screen, by card.
NowInvoice sent after the cert, chased twice, paid when they get round to it.
With InstaQuoteTap Job done and the invoice goes out. Late payers get reminders in your name that stop when they pay.
NowVAT on the parts, CIS off the labour for the builder, worked out on your phone's calculator.
With InstaQuoteVAT, CIS and job totals worked out on every quote and invoice, the HMRC way, with the figure shown.

I'm Tom. Ten years in the trade, and every quote done sat in the van on the drive. If that's you, keep reading.
I started in the trade at 17. Ten years in, the work was fine. It was everything after the work.
Every night I'd pull up at home and sit in the van on the drive, because the quotes and the invoices and the chasing had to be done before I went in. Every night. And the better the quotes were, the more people rang, so it never got smaller. I was starting to hate a trade I'd loved since I was 17.
If you've ever sat outside your own house doing paperwork, you know.
I tried every system going. Every one made a quote, then left me in the van doing the rest.
So I came off the tools and spent 18 months building the thing that didn't exist. Every step I used to do on that drive, built in so it happens without you. The quote prices itself from your rates. The deposit books the job. The invoice goes when you tap Job done. The late payer gets chased. VAT and CIS worked out.
Two things we found in no other trade app we checked: the deposit on your quote books the job and the customer moves the date themselves, and your bank statement gets matched with the tax to put aside shown.
It's new. Price a real job on it, 7 days free. If it's not quicker than what you do now, bin it and tell me why.
What I want is simple: you out of the van and in the house, paid properly and on time, and back in love with the trade you picked.

On Tradify, once a customer accepts your quote you still book the job in, and move the date yourself when they ask.

Why us, not the others
Every app we checked does quotes, invoices, the diary, VAT and CIS. So do we. These six are on top, and none of the ten says it does them.
No more chasing a date. They pick it, they move it, you turn up.
Upload it and every payment is matched to the invoice it paid. No surprise tax bill: what to put aside is shown as the year goes.
Your work is yours, not ours. Five of the ten say on their own sites that they lock you out or delete it.
No more working out the itemised version at the kitchen table. Your merchant's prices, your markup.
Gas Safe, NICEIC, CSCS, insurance, the lot on file. You're told before one runs out, never after.
Make a key in Settings, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude once, and ask "who owes me?". It can read your account and never change it.
Checked on their own websites, 18 to 26 September 2026, and ServiceM8 again on 3 October, and all ten again on 12 October 2026: Tradify, Powered Now, Fergus, ServiceM8, Jobber, Commusoft, YourTradebase, QuickPrice, VoxTrade and PriceUp. Where their site says nothing, we say "not found", never "they don't". See it app by app.
The only bit you do
A quoting app for electricians that doesn't stop at the quote. Price the board, the points and the rewire from your own rates, then it takes the deposit, books the job in and gets you paid. Type it into your phone on the doorstep: six double sockets, four downlights, a new board and a test. It comes back itemised per point and per job, priced off your own rates.
Type it, say it or photo it. Type or say the job from the doorstep, or photo the board. Points, lights, boards, testing and call outs come back as separate priced lines.
You give the sizes, it does the sums. No tape, no measuring tool. A photo gives it the rough sizes and what is in the room, you type or say the real sizes, and it prices off your rates. Anything it assumed is marked for you to check.
Priced from your rates. Priced from your own per point and per job rates. Electrical starts you at £95 for a double socket, £110 a lighting point, £650 for a board change and a £280 day rate, and you change every figure to yours.
Your price list, day one
Real UK starting prices for electricians, already in your list on the first day. Every one of them is yours to change, and your rates are what the quotes price from.
| Work | Starter price |
|---|---|
| Add socket / double socket | £95/each |
| Add lighting point + switch | £110/point |
| Replace consumer unit (board) | £650/each |
| EICR / electrical inspection | £180/each |
| Electrician day rate | £280/day |
Starting points for 2025 and 2026, meant to be tuned to your patch. Change one in Settings and every future quote uses it.
See the full electrical price list, freeSparks usually carry their own gear, so the lists are deliberately lean and honest: the board, the cable, the accessories on the lines that need them. Add anything else in a tap.
You can put a names only list on the customer's copy so they can see what you are supplying, with your buying and your markup kept to yourself.
VAT and CIS for electricians. Work for a builder, a contractor or a developer and the CIS deduction is worked out on the quote and the invoice. The reverse charge is a separate tick, and it only applies if you're both VAT registered, the work is standard or reduced rated, and they haven't told you in writing they're the end user. Our free checker settles it. Work straight for a homeowner and both stay off.

Yes. Sockets and lights are priced per point, boards and rewires per job, testing per certificate, and anything open ended off your day rate. Nothing is forced into an m² rate.
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Your certificates come from your scheme provider. InstaQuote quotes the inspection, books it in, invoices it and chases it if it goes unpaid.
Yes, as separate lines on one quote, with the VAT worked out at the bottom. A full house rewire is seeded at £6,200 and a board change at £650 so the shape of the quote is right before you touch it.

Not to try it. Your free week and your demo quote don't need one. If you pick a plan during the week, you add your card then and nothing is taken that day: the first payment goes out automatically when your free week ends (or up to two days later if you pick it in the last two days). Don't pick a plan and nothing is ever charged; the account pauses with nothing deleted.
